The new machines are capable of creating spiral filter tubes in a variety of widths and lengths and are extremely productive compared to traditional welding operations.
The introduction of this new technology is part of an investment programme – worth up to £1 million – in our 25,000 sqm site, which encompasses the purchase of new machinery, refurbishing existing assets and enhancements to the firm’s facilities.
The Expanded Metal Company has a long track record in providing solutions to the filtration industry and the new technology will increase the range of specialist filtration products we can offer. In addition to filtration, the spiral tubes also have additional applications in industries such as textiles, automotive and interior design.
The tubes are manufactured without the need for welding and the equipment produces consistently high collapse strength tubes.
Materials including stainless steel, tin-plated steel, aluminium alloys, carbon steels, copper-based alloys and pre-coated steel can all be used in the manufacturing process.
