We’re thrilled to reveal that The Expanded Metal Company has been announced as a finalist in the Insider Made in the UK Awards, after being crowned Manufacturer of the Year (under £25 million) in The Made in the North East Awards last year.
Insider’s Made in the UK awards champion manufacturing excellence on a national stage and celebrates the UK’s most innovative and successful manufacturers, ranging from SMEs to multinationals.
The award ceremony will take place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Thursday, 20 June and The Expanded Metal Company has been shortlisted for the national Manufacturer of the Year (under £25 million) award along with nine other regional winners.
As winners in their regions, the finalists have to prove their originality, commitment to sustainability and desire for growth.
The Expanded Metal Company was named as the winner in the Manufacturer of the Year (under £25 million) category for the North East of England on October 18, 2018.
Throughout 2018, we invested heavily in staff recruitment and workforce development, and continued to innovate by developing and launching new products such as Square Mesh and our ExMesh SR2 gate, and working closely with industry.
In addition, we collaborated with one of Teesside’s fast-rising tech companies - digital visualisation innovator Animmersion - on the development of a visual tool used to portray our expanded metal mesh patterns in 2D and 3D renders, which is a world first for the expanded metal sector.
