We had a brilliant day at EMCON 2025, connecting with North East businesses and showcasing our expanded metal products on Stand 87. From finishes and fabrication to architectural projects like Hebburn Central, it was a fantastic opportunity to share what we do.
We had a fantastic two days at UK Metals Expo 2025, showcasing our expanded metal products and meeting so many industry peers. From live demonstrations and great conversations to celebrating a team birthday and running a competition, it was a busy and rewarding event.
The Expanded Metal Company has been shortlisted for Best Large Business and Best Manufacturing or Engineering Business at the Hartlepool Business Awards 2025. The firm, last year’s Best Large Business winner, is also sponsoring the Best New Business award.
We were proud to welcome Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen to our Hartlepool headquarters, where he toured our 25,000m² facility and saw first hand the scale of our manufacturing capabilities.
As the original makers of expanded metal, established in 1889, we showcased our ongoing investment in advanced technologies including laser cutting, cnc press braking, aluminium cutting, and cobot welding as well as the work of our ExMesh Engineering division.
Ben’s visit was a great opportunity to highlight the strength of local manufacturing and the key role Hartlepool plays in supporting UK industry and innovation.
The Expanded Metal Company has been shortlisted for multiple categories at the Made in the North East Awards 2025, following its 2024 win as Manufacturer of the Year (under £25 million). This year, the company is nominated for the Manufacturing Innovation Award and Manufacturer of the Year (below £25 million), reflecting its commitment to excellence and innovation. Winners will be announced on March 13, 2025, at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead Hotel.
